How do I know if the SCD is working

Hi

I have ulcerative colitis. I started the diet 2 weeks ago. So far I cant say

there is definitely any change, but there MAY be some subtle changes. What can I

expect? Anything dramatic? And how long do people usually have to be on the diet

before they see definite improvements. I know the book says I should see

improvements within 3 weeks.

I guess I need some thing to keep me going. I am desperate for the diet to work.

Also where will I find it if someone answers this?

Hi, everyone is different. Subtle changes are a good thing. The gut does not

heal overnight and SCD is a lifestyle for the long run. Are you keeping a diary?

I recorded foods I ate, along with " bathroom details " and my mood. If I did not

think I was making progress, I only had to look back to see that I was.

The best way is to progress on the diet slow and steady. Progress is also not

always linear and there may be ups and downs along the way. Remember our bodies

react to stresses and circumstances even on the diet.

If you post what you are eating, maybe some of us can advise. SCD sometimes has

to be fine tuned to your individual needs.
