Guest guest
scott interesting what you said about the seasonal trends Pink Joyce R (IPF 3/06) IFA 5/09 Pennsylvania Donate Life Listed 1/09 Inactive 4/09 www.transplantfund.org--- Subject: Hi Joe & JoanieTo: Breathe-Support Date: Monday, January 25, 2010, 3:56 AM Sorry to hear about your PFT's declining also--I just went back and looked at all of my PFT's for the last 2 years and there is a trend that shows I do poorly between Nov & Feb. every time I take the tests. The rest of the time the trend shows an improvement from the Jan and February tests, so I am thinking I will do better on my next test in March. I do recognize that I am loosing ground but not at the rate the tests are showing. I have given this a lot of thought, because I am on this "dead end road" with only one u-turn in it, I am kind of hoping the progression would increase at a faster pace and I could get on the Transplant list and get this show on the road. I'm not scared of the surgery, just the process of getting there. If the surgery is a success--I'll wake up--if its not-- I won't know about it. I have always done well with surgeries, even my Vats was a walk in the park, it was so good I told the Dr. I was thinking about getting one every 6 months--LOL. Oh well I better quit rambling. Hope everything is going well for you, maybe the up coming warmer weather will help. Take care. G. UIP/IPF 5/07 AZ.
Guest guest
, I have stayed on a plateau for 2 years to the month, almost to the day since diagnosis. I can definitely feel the decline and have needed more 02. Stamina also declining and tiredness is quicker and more often. Some relatives and friends have also noticed. All of my previous tests were identical regardless of the time of year. I have had 15 surgeries (including cataract) and have done well but I am not sure I want to spend a life savings on myself for a transplant. Maybe I will feel different when the day comes. Guest guest
Joe, I'm sorry that you've been feeling a decline. It's something we all will face at some point but I'm sorry you are in the position now. I have similar ambivilance on the transplant decision. It's not a decision I've had to make yet and not one I look forward to. Don't rule it out, just keep taking this one day at a time. Look after yourself and your lovely bride. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
