Guest guest
Hi Fran (great name btw), I haven't had this surgery yet, but I did have another facial surgery that had an extended swelling period. I was told the swelling would be gone in 6-12 months, and to be fair, most of it was. But I had residual swelling well over a year post op. Bear in mind it gets progressively better, but it definately can take more than a year for the remnant swelling to subside. I have had this with other surgeries too. I think it also depends on how you have personally responded to surgery in the past. I tend to swell and bruise long and far more than the norm with every surgery. I am not expecting to have this one be any different, unfortunately! I hope this helps!
