Guest guest
I obviously have been out of town for the last 2 days. And I realize that this issue is being put to bed. But I need to tell you that I am absolutely shocked at the responses that have been posted. I will email privately. But I wanted to clearly convey my apologies for what I hope people realize was never any intention. Several people talk about feeling singled out? Holy )(#$*#$. How would you think I feel???? Did I truly give any impression that I thought that the listserve wasn't a great place? Did I truly give an impression that I thought that the listserve wasn't our home? Did I truly give an impression that we shouldn't be supportive to others? Are ideas about subject lines and replying directly to people that bad? My example that got so upset wasn't directed at anyone. We have all done what I wrote. I would have never used such an example if only one person had done that. Gosh, guys! My example wasn't saying we shouldn't be supportive. We should!!! It was just a suggestion that maybe we send those privately to the person. But it is a suggestion. Not a critique of any specific person, and certainly not a mandate. My mouth is literally on the floor. I realize that I am a day behind all of you, but I am in absolute SHOCK that Katy's original email and mine have pissed off so many people!!!! I think Pattie's email was absolutely the best - that we are a large family and we should continue to find ways to meet the needs of all of our family members. My email was only a suggestion. There was no slamming in it; I never pointed fingers at anyone; I didn't say anything negative about the listserve. So here is my apology, and I will drop this forever. I apologize if my email offended anyone. It was not my intention.
