Guest guest
Hello there, -Caboose - How are things going? Haven't written to you lately, so I thought I'd say hello. Well, I'm at the week #3 mark with these braces. It's not too bad, but I don't think I will be forgetting that they are in my mouth anytime soon. My teeth are moving alot; the gap between my upper two front teeth has closed and the teeth on the bottom that were a part of my crossbite are turning to align themselves in my arch. I'm getting very excited with the progress. Today I went to my OD's office to change some appointments and got a chance to see my OD. He asked me to show him my smile and he seemed rather happy with my progress. I asked him if I could get my surgery moved up, and he says he and I will be discussing it next Tuesday at my first adjustment appointment. I'm supposed to meet with my OMS in December to decide if my teeth have aligned in the arches enough so that we can make some sort of decision regarding the need for the LeFort. I think it is rather stressful to have this up in the air; I told my OMS earlier this month that undergoing both the BSSO AND the LeFort would be fine with me. The reason I'm now wanting the LeFort is because if only the BSSO is done, my tongue will be too long for my mouth (he will be shortening my mouth with the BSSO set- back), which will cause speech problems. I certainly don't want to go thru all this to have a new problem emerge. It would be nice to get all this settled so I could get ready mentally for BiMaxillary Surgery.////// Congratulations on finally getting released back to your OD! WooHoo! Looks like you are finally progressing to the end of your Orthognathic Journey! Have your eating habits at work gotten better? Will you be altering your diet now that you can chew? I can't imagine how that is going to feel - chewing real food instead of the soft food you've grown comfortable with.// Well, that's it for now. Take care. ~~~~ Diane :-)#) > > Hi All & June Buddies, Just an update from visit to OD & OS today. > > All looks good. The amount of numbness left is minimal.
