Guest guest
I eat pretty much the same exact thing everyday, so I'm seriously thinking of implementing the rotation diet so that I don't become intolerant to any of my favorites. I know the basics, but have a few questions: Is there anything that DOESN'T need rotated? Like maybe spices, butter, oils, gelatin, or honey? Are eggs okay everyday if they are baked into something? If not, that sure limits the use of recipes. Do cow cheese/yogurt count as one day, and goat cheese/yogurt count as a second? At least I'd be able to eat yogurt every other day. I've never made goat yogurt, could be interesting. I think that's it for now :-). Hopefully, I have enough foods to make this work! Guest guest
Holly, I know there's good sense to the rotation theory. However, in general during the thirty years I've dealt with gut problems, this doesn't work for me. I can either eat something or I can't, not it's OK once a week. Having said that, and rather strangely, veggies are the ones I seem to " lose " with over-use. So those I seem to rotate in and out of my diet, but not on a four or seven day rotation. More that they are OK for awhile, then want a rest, then come back after a few months. I suspect this is because for twenty years I literally had no protein I could handle and veggies were mostly what I could eat, so maybe my body has been saying since then, " you've eaten your lifetime allotment of broccoli " etc. Or maybe not, maybe I'll get them back regularly, if not every day, eventually. For me, chicken/turkey, most fruits (except orange, pineapple and strawberries), olive oil, now butter and eggs, and normal salad veggies, zucchini, herbs and a few spices are fine. My rock bottom dependable foods. I do eat pretty much the same thing every day still. But this is perhaps just me. I know some people swear by rotation.
