Guest guest
Thanks for the congrats, I'm doing well, getting closer to being my normal (or abnormal depending on who you ask) self. I am so glad you are still going on your trip. My husband's and mine 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up in October. We had been planning on all along going on an 8 day cruise to the Caribbean in mid October for it. Anyways, 2 weeks before my surgery my husband's mother passed away while we were out of town. After paying for the funeral, time off, my surgery and the extra time he needed off to take care of me, our trip plans never came to fruition. I looked at my husband last week, he's so faithfully been taking care of me, and I realized he's been through as much or more than I have. I went on line and booked a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas, much cheaper and shorter, put it on a credit card and thought, " hay, how often does your 10 year anniversary come? " Since then, looking forward to it is making the time fly. Even if I still have my braces on (I was thinking by now I might have had them off if my surgery had been done in the spring when it was supposed to) I really don't care anymore. You will have such a great time on your trip and so will your wife. Time away from the decision making and the stress. I would follow the advice of the others who have suggested getting at least another ortho consult. I've been told that both my OS and OD are perfectionists and take longer to do things, and always err on the cautious. I was complaining about it to myself, but I understand from your experience that relapses do happen and they're trying to prevent it. What does your wife think? Does she think you should contemplate a third surgery or does she think enough is enough? Best wishes, and I hold you in my thoughts.
