2 Week Post-Surgery Update!

Hi OSS!

I just had an 2-week appointment with my OS, and everything is going better

than expected! He gave me the go-ahead to start eating soft-food, so

hopefully I'll start gaining some energy back! Nearly all of my swelling is

gone, and I can finally smile (even though I don't want to much, because

there is so much metal/plastic in my mouth). My OS told me that everything

looks great, and I just have to wear the rubberbands now at night. Also, he

said that he would take off the splint and lugs around 4-weeks post-op, but

I asked him today if he would take it off next Friday (3.5 weeks post-op),

because my 22nd birthday is on Friday, and he said yes!! I am soo happy! My

OS also said that I could go back to see my OD to start getting my teeth

back alligned after Friday, so I have an appointment the next Monday. So

only 4-weeks post op, and I am headed back to the OD to get everything back

in place and start moving forward to finish up this process. This is over a

month ahead of the original schedule!

Anyway, even though the first 2 weeks were really rough, things are already

starting to look great! Hopefully my other late September/October surgery

buddies are also doing well!
