Guest guest
Howdy Folks, For those of you who have met my son Connor, you all know that he knows no strangers and is completely fearless. Well, do I have a story for you all.... Last Tuesday at church we were having a Fat Tuesday Pancake Dinner and Talent Show. My other two boys were not impressed with the talent, so they went out to the playground to run around. Connor, however, really liked seeing people using the microphone and playing their instruments. Well, as were sitting there, Connor decided that he wants to sing a song. So I ask the M.C. of the night if Connor could do this. Corey, the M.C. who is 6'5 leans way down and tells Connor, " Sure thing, you're up next. " While he waits, Connor crawls up on the lap of one of the high school girls who babysits for him. Corey starts the intro: " Ladies and Gentleman, this dude needs no introductions. You all know him as 'The Wombat.' He's going to sing a song for us. Connor then hops off the lap of Suzanna, grabs her hand and pulls her along with him. They get up front and Suzanna lifts him up so he can reach the microphone. Connor grabs that mic and starts singing at the top of his voice his rendition of, " Itsy Bitsy Spider. " Oh my gosh. He brought the house down. People were cheering and yelling encore! Connor, who was so pleased with himself pulls out of his pocket the King Cake token he found in his king cake. Corey then picks him up and announces, " We have a King Wombat for Fat Tuesday, Hooray!!!! " Then Suzanna crowned him with the crown. I think that Connor floated out of their that night. He was so pleased with himself. What a hoot. The token and crown are on his bed, just above his pillow. Of course, he has to sleep with these things now. Move over Barney, the King has arrived.
