I'm sorry your grandson is having such difficulty. I'm not a doctor, but I

agree, I'd want him to see a specialist if he were my child. There are spinal

deformities that can cause torticollis and, in turn, plagiocephaly. These

deformities can also be genetic, so I think your concerns are very reasonable.

Having problems with motor control (not being able to move hands properly for

age), can be a sign of a neurological problem, too. I would press for him to be

brought to a neurosurgeon to have his upper spine looked at and have imaging

done. If that doesn't lead anywhere, I'd then take him to a neurologist for the

motor problem to be analyzed. Best of luck!

on his head too much, not rotating him enough. They didn't say it was

Torticollis, but I was able to call the rehab place baby is going to and found

out. My kids may not know the name of it either. But was baffles me is, they

said the head went real flat and then got a big buldge on it. The buldge is half

the size of the head which makes his head 1 1/2 tims bigger than it was

originally. Then, the doc says laying him on that side of the head too long

caused a spinal problem which causes him not to be able to open his fists.

There's got to be more to this than Torticollis.

> Another reason that I was worried, is the mommy, not my daughter, came from a

very abusive home and was given up for adoption. She throws her poor cat across

the room. I don't know why my son puts up with it. I also don't like the way she

talks to my 13 year old. Anyway, I'm glad I found the diagnosis today, but is

that the only one. They haven't taken my grandson to a neurologist or spinal doc

since their pediatrician said they didn't have to. If it were me, he'd have seen

the top specialists already. I get to the bottom of things.
