Hi Connie,

So today is your one month anniversary for your surgery!

Congratulations! And thank you for saying hi! I've missed this board

and missed hearing how everyone is doing and cheering on and

supporting everyone who was so encouraging and supportive of me after

my own surgery.... This has been such a busy summer! I was in Russia

for a month and it was while I was there that I got out of touch with

everyone here...

So! At least let me ask you how your surgery went? How are you

feeling these days? Are you happy so far with your results? oh! And

what did you have done? :)

Take care and I hope to be around more often now... I have no idea

where Jane disappeared to though!

Katja :)

Katja,

I had lower jaw, a bilateral sagittal split. I was in surgery for

almost 6 hours, but only in the hospital for one night. I'm doing

much better now. I got an infection, both on the outside of my face

and on the inside of my mouth on the right side about a week and a

half postop and fought with that for a while. The doctor thought it

was possibly coming back as I started getting numbness again into my

right cheek. I haven't however gotten any more swelling, and while

I have a certain amount of pain on that side, I haven't noticed any

other infection like symptoms.

I had quite a bit of assymetry, inside my mouth and in my face. My

teeth are perfect, my doctor even said the midline is on better than

even his own is, and whereas I had a crossbite previously everything

is right on. My chin is now in the middle of my face also. I don't

see a huge difference with my face though. One side has always

seemed larger since my jaw swung in that direction, and it still

seems that way. I hoped for quite a bit of cosmetic change, but

most of all I hoped to be able to eat right, and to relieve my TMJ

symptoms and migraines. I think it has accomplished that, we'll see

once I am done healing, and if it has I definitely think it was

worth it.

I didn't notice Jane posting after she moved, and I went offline for

a month as I was planning food for 225 for a wedding (a relative's

wedding) and when I came back on I didn't notice you posting.

I hope you enjoyed your travels. Did you say they put you back in

bands for alignment? Look forward to hearing from you.
