Guest guest
Hi Bob, Yep, we were surgery buddies your first time around. I had my surgery the day after you.... That feels like so long ago.... I wish it was as far in the past for you as it is for me. What surgery did you have originally? and did they repeat that same surgery the second time? I just can't believe you are going through this. What does your family say? What does your wife think? In comparison to what you've been through, my recovery has been nothing.... I am a tad unhappy about the canted teeth however. I'm starting to have bad dreams about it! I hate those dental dreams/nightmares! But canted teeth are nothing compared to facing this surgery all over again and again. China tea cups banging together sounds like a nightmare in itself. I am glad you at least have that splint to help in the meantime. I am still curious about the movement being done by ortho... he can't give you some bands to start the movement? 5ml isn't a huge distance ultimately. It wouldn't happen in a month, but I would think it could be done. Bands from your upper molars to lower K-9s would help pull those lower teeth in! Maybe you could consult with another ortho for their opinion? ... Given the time, ortho can do a lot and move a lot! I think I would prefer ortho to more surgery.... You'd think it would be worth it to at least try first... Maybe your ortho is lazy? My first ortho was a quack job which is why I'm paying for braces a second time and having things finally, but slowly, fixed properly. Uhg. I hate the just because somebody has Dr. next to their name, it doesn't tell you if they were the last in their class or what their work ethic is, etc. Not all Dr's are created equal.... I guess you need to wait to hear from your surgeon regarding bone placement in contrast to where the teeth are. I second Cammie's suggestion to seek advice/opinions outside of this immediate circle of doctors that so far have been failing you miserably and and causing you undue pain and grief. I can certainly understand why you are feeling so unsure about the surgeon now. I had a hard enough time trusting my surgeon the first time around! Has the surgeon X-rayed your jaw recently? Let us know when you hear from your surgeon and keep us posted. Everyone is cheering for you! Lastly, on bahalf of this group, I am ordering you to ENJOY Vegas and the time with your wife! I hope you and she have a really great time, goodness knows you deserve it!
