Guest guest
My lips never met when at rest pre-op. I'm now 10 days post-op after having upper moved forward, and lower moved back...one of the things my treatment was designed to improve was the aforementioned lip incompetence. As the swelling's going down, it really doesn't look like my situation has improved all that much. When at rest, my lips still seem just about as far apart as they were before. I recognize though that I'm only 10 days post-op and don't want to rush to conclusions. For those who had a similar condition, how long do you think it's reasonable to wait before I judge for myself whether I'm getting the results I had hoped for. I also realize that I still have my braces on, which probably pushes my lips up and apart from each other...will getting my braces off have much of an impact in decreasing the distance between my lips? Guest guest
Hi, My lips finally closed at 5 weeks post op once the swelling in the upper lip decreased. So you are still early on in the game and should allow more time. Hang in there because you will probably notice a great improvement at 4 to 5 weeks post op! --Caboose > My lips never met when at rest pre-op.
