Guest guest
Hi all, My daughter as I have said before had a Lafort I Ostonomy on August 13th. They moved her upper jaw 4mm forward and widened her pallet and she has to wear the splint in her mouth for 6 weeks It was 1 week yesterday and already her swelling has gone down tremendously with very little bruising. Her cheeks are still puffy and her lips a bit. I am thrilled but must admit from reading posts on this site I rather expected worse. Is this about normal or is she just doing better than usual. I am finally getting food down her as she got the nerve to remove her bands to eat some mac-n-cheese that she swallowed without chewing. The smell from her nose has pretty much left since she realized the smell was coming from her sinuses and once she started using the saline spray very often that made a huge difference. She made a mistake last night though. A friend came over and didn't know the meaning of leave! So from 6 to 9 my DD talked to this girl and when she left my DD was in great pain. I had to give her pain medicine for the first time in days. Still all in all I am pleased. Anita
