Guest guest
Hi to all, Been lurking and asking some questions for about a week now and perhaps should explain my situation better. I am 47 years old. I have pretty bad top teeth and I went to the dentist to see about dental inplants and a prothesis on the upper. He sent me to orthodontist/oral maxilliofacial of which said in order to do the inplants, I would need either bone grafts or move my jaw up some. So, in the surgery he wants to pull my top 3 teeth (they are not very good and will not last but a few more years anyway). He also wants to move the top jaw forward and he also wants to insert the inplants. I think that is a LOT of stuff being done at one surgery. Anyone else having anything like this done? I am scared but I have had a second opinion and that dentist says the same thing: its either bone grafts or surgery. Also, my jaw is quite out of line w/bottom jaw. I brought this up now because I have recently noticed that there are some women/men in the group that are around my age. The only positive I see here is that I am not in braces and do not have to worry about being " wired " . Thanks for the input.
