Guest guest
Katja - Yes, patience is absolutely impossible when you're going thru all this! Everytime I go to my OD and my OMS, I tell them I'm in a hurry to get my surgery done. I'm sure they both think I'm a lunatic; I've procrastinated about getting this surgery done for the last twenty-five years and I want to get it done NOW! And, I'm guilty of dropping in on my OMS too: after I got all my braces hardware on, I stopped at my OMS's office on my way back to work. He was out of the office on his lunch break, so I told his receptionist to let him know I was in to show off my whole braces " ensemble " . Carolyn's one smart cookie; she told me she would be happy to take a digital picture of my mouth, as he would be disappointed to have missed me and that would satisfy his curiosity. So she took me back to his consult room, and with the help of the insurance manager, took a few pictures of my braces-ful mouth. I'm sure he loved the surprise when he returned to the office. I also dropped in on my OD once. I was playing phone-tag with his receptionist about changing some of my appointments, so I decided to drive over to the office and take care of it in person. After the appointments were changed, his receptionist told me to go back to the adjustments room and " bug " him. So, off I went. Boy, was he surprised to see me! He was finishing up on a patient, so I waited, and then he and I had a nice visit. He loved seeing how much my teeth had moved - I only had the braces on for two weeks! He's such a sweetie! (Young (in his 30's), tall, and handsome too. My OMS is also young (in his mid-40's) and handsome, with a huge mustache.)// Oh, and I'm so-o totally tired of explaining all this to my family. One of my sisters thinks the surgery will be done in the doctor's office and is something like a rootcanal; the other sister is surprised I'm doing this at my age (I'm 47). My Mom doesn't quite understand this; doesn't understand that I will be in the hospital, won't be able to talk afterward, and will have to blend my food. She thinks I will be able to eat a steak in no time. When I say no way, she tells me my Surgeon is a quack and to get another Dr. I'm about to give up on my family!!//// Rene, hang in there. Both of you, take care. ~~~~~ Diane (Idaho) > > > > > > I am so disappointed.
