Guest guest
From Jenn Salem not too long ago: Please be aware of the differences between EMLA and ELA-MAX (refer to the last page of our RSS/SGA section of the MAGIC Touch newsletter each quarter). EMLA is a vesicular constricting medication, prescription only, that works to numb the skin and the layers under it. Very good for intramuscular injections!!!! ELA-MAX is the " old " name of the product made by Ferndale Labs. Over- the counter (does NOT need a prescription), also a skin numbing cream. This product is NON-vascular constricting -- which makes it more ideal for blood draws (vascular constricting means the veins get smaller -- so NON v.c. means it does NOT make the veins get smaller). However, Ferndale Labs renamed their product. ELA-MAX is now called L.M.X.4 _____ From: RSS-Support [mailto:RSS-Support ] On Behalf Of colinandhaydensmom Sent: Wednesday, February 15, 2006 2:08 PM To: RSS-Support Subject: Is EMLA numbing cream by presciption or over the counter? I can't remember if there is an over the counter version or not? Colin has some blood work coming up and I want to make sure and use this. I knew someone here would know. Thanks!
