Guest guest
I am scheduled for a colonoscopy in a few weeks, my first in many years, and definitely the first since I have been on SCD. The clinic where I am having this done has e-mailed me instructions, including the items I must purchase ahead of time: 1 container of Klean Prep (containing 4 sachets) - an osmotic laxative, which apparently contains SCD-illegals: vanilla flavour and aspartame 4 Dulcolax tablets - contain lots of SCD illegals 4 bottles of Gatorade (lemon-lime or orange - definitely not SCD legal, contains sugar syrup apple juice (I would use filtered apple cider, but I am also allergic to apples), ginger ale - not SCD legal unless I make it myself, white grape juice or white cranberry juice; I will have to search for SCD legal white grape juice and SCD legal white cranberry juice Gravol (take orally before starting preparation to help avoid nausea & vomiting) I have printed out Marilyn Alm's helpful advice in the " getting started " file, but I don't think I can purchase Walgreen's Easy-Lax here in Canada, and I am not sure whether there are any equivalent products available here. I know that people have mentioned Miralax -- is this product sold in Canada, and if so, will it be as effective as Easy-Lax would be, as a substitute for the 4 Dulcolax tablets? Does anybody know of any SCD-legal osmotic laxatives available in Canada, and whether they are available without a prescription? Thanks in advance for suggestions. I have been on SCD for about 2.5 years, have managed to adhere pretty faithfully, and anticipate much misery if I have to swallow SCD illegals before the colonoscopy. Regards, Ellen in Toronto, Canada
