Guest guest
It depends on two things. The ingredients used in the liquid amoxicillin are likely to contain illegals, so check the labels and packaging carefully. All of the liquid forms of medications and supplements I've seen contain one or more things that are off-limits while on SCD. They are included to make the item easier to swallow since the taste buds are more involved with a liquid suspension than they are with a tablet or capsule. And, secondly, whether you have absorption issues which might limit the effectiveness of the capsule form. Some people discover their upper GI can't break down capsule shells and utilize the contents. In that case, a liquid form might be the only solution if an injection or IV form isn't available. If you are dealing with absorption issues, then I'd try to find a liquid option without illegals, compounded perhaps. If not, then you can weigh the risks of using the liquid. It will certainly set your healing back, might even trigger a symptom flare. But taking an antibiotic like amoxicillin will also do the same thing. Kim M.
