Guest guest
I have this issue from time to time as well. In fact, I had the issue of not being able to evacuate completely in a short time for most of my life, way before my DS. I'd sit and sit and sit, and became the " butt " of family joking. This is not an ad; this is my personal experience with a very useful product: One of the posters on the DS list recommended a device called LePetitBidet which installs under the toilet seat and allows one to squirt water diverted from the wall spigot upward to clean one's rear end. I got one from the supplier on eBay for about $40 (you don't have to bid; you can just " Buy Now " ). I have found by experimentation that it not only does a marvelous job of cleansing (especially appreciated when occasionally very loose stools feel corrosive), but when I turn it on full blast, it stimulates the colon into emptying so that I don't have to go back in 10 minutes or so. Quite a few of the DS gang have installed them, and all seem quite satisfied. [As an aside, I had ordered two, intending to install one in the bathroom that DW uses, but she did not want it. I wound up installing it for a friend who recently developed cancer in the forearm muscle of one arm--putting it out of commission for several months--and whose other arm had limited flexibility since childhood (polio?). Until I installed this for him, he was dependent on his wife's being around to wipe his rear, and since he also had IBS, there was no predicting when he would need her to be there. So, this was a real liberator for both of them.] Should any of you decide to purchase one, you would be well-advised to get a flexible supply tube --about $10 at Home Depot--because the T-adaptor furnished with the LePetieBidet shortens the path from the wall spigot by about 2 inches, and most often the rigid metal tubing cannot be bent to conform to the new arrangement. Otherwise, installation is a pretty straightforward matter that the average Harry[-iet] Homeowner can accomplish in less than 1/2 hour, first time around. --Steve At 6:15 AM -0600 2/6/04, InAustin wrote: >I go to the bathroom, think I'm " done, " and then have to go back 10 >minutes later. Guest guest
got me a hand held one for our master bathroom. We found it somewhere on line. Can't remember where. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I do remember it didn't cost that much more then what Steve paid for his. I highly recommend them and I am not a DS, just someone who has always had VERY loose stools since my GB was removed and the RNY hasn't changed that.
