Guest guest
Hi all! Went to my first ortho visit on thursday since I had my surgery on Aug 15th (Leforte & BSSO). He took off 95% of the surgical hooks - I just have one set to use for bands overnight. Phew- that was really great to get those off. He did a full adjustment - I also lost both powerchains (upper and lower front - 6 to 6). I've had the powerchains since the begining - it's nice to have just the wire across my front teeth. I was a bit sore on Thurs and friday, but chewing is coming back. The thing I can't do still is bite down into something like a sandwich - I'm still putting smaller pieces into my mouth. Even soft things (like the ever popular Mcs cheeseburger). Maybe I'm a little scared of that- it's uncomfortable so I'm avoiding it. Lastly - it's a good bet that I will be out of braces by Christmas. Wow. Hard to believe that it'll be done so soon. One adjust in Nov and then off in Dec? crazy. Now if my left ear would only cooperate and stop ringing and being blocked and generally miserable things would be great! Take care everyone - esp the latest crop of post-opers! Things really do get better. Cyndy
