Hi,

My granddaughter started treatment for her plagiocephaly at CT in Charlotte

about 6 weeks ago. She was 6 months old. Upon our first visit for a free

evaluation we felt that the training and knowledge the therapists have surpassed

some of the other centers who treat plagiocephaly.Considering that is ALL they

do there was even more comforting. My granddaughter also had mild " tort " and

instruction was given for stretching the neck muscle that contributed to the

plagiocephaly. The staff at CT are great and have been wonderful with treating

Olive. Her therapist there is Kathy. I highly recommend treatment there. The out

of pocket cost of the band was reduced to $2200 since Olive is covered under

Medicaid Insurance. Medicaid would not pay for the band so we had Olive's

pediatrician do some paperwork to appeal Medicaid's decision but their reply was

that CT was out of network. The Center at Wake Forest Baptist might have been in

network but we chose CT instead. That was our preference. We live in Lexington

and drive to Charlotte once a week for adjustment to Olive's Doc Band. Last week

Kathy told us Olive is now half way through her band. Hoping she will not need a

second band but if she does then we will move forward with it. I suggest having

your child evaluated at both centers and then go with your gut feeling about

which would be best for your child. Have you viewed CT's web site yet? Hope your

future " Doc Band " journey proves to be one of the best decisions you ever made

for your child.

> Hi, I am so thankful to have found this support group. I am taking my 7 month

old daughter to Wake Forest University 10/4//10 for her 1st appointment for mild

to mopderate plagiochephly with facial asymmetry. I was wanting to know if

anyone has had treatment there or at the CT facility or Level 4 facility in

CHarlotte. Thank you for any input.
