Making nurses jump is funny )

My fiance's grandfather, 91yr old from Panama, has been in the

hospital/rehab/nursing home for the past 8 months. From the time I've

met him, he's always kept his apartment really hot and on the dark

side. Well, when he first had surgery, I went to the hospital to

visit him, and he had his white bed sheet pulled up and over his head.

I almost freaked out - but then I heard the heart monitor so I

figured everything was OK. I asked the family - and they said he does

that all the time - so it's darker and warmer. Fast forward a couple

of nights. One of the late night nurses had just got on and went to

check on dear ol' Wesley (who she adored). She walked into the room

and saw the sheet over his head, thought he was dead, and let out a

scream - completely freaked out. I'm not sure if the re-telling of

the story was funny...but we laugh about it all the time. Now he sits

in the nursing home common area with a white towel over his head...the

funny thing is that he's not crazy...just upset that it's so bright

ps...oh - and thanks for the compliment ) the surgeon yesterday

asked how i like my new look. i said, since the swelling has gone

down i think i look a lot like i did before. he pulled out my pre-op

photos - and was like " nope. you look a lot different! " and then i

saw it! it's crazy how we just adapt to our new faces after time. i

feel like i've had this one forever! maybe it's because i've had so

many surgeries...i'm not attached ot any one look
