Parent of SGA baby: Needs To Talk with SOmeone; she wants hope.

Hi All,

Just spoke with a parent of a 5.5 month old girl, weighs 10 pounds,

small head size, so diagnosis is SGA. Severe reflux issues.

Here's the deal:

-Her name is . Her daughter is Jordan.

-A feeding clinic is strongly recommending that her daughter

immediately get an NG Tube because baby appears to have stopped food

intake. However, ketones are ok.

-She has been in contact with Dr.H,but does not meet her until next

week. She does not know if she should hold off until next week to

see if tube (g or ng) is recommended.

-Her immediate need: She wants HOPE. She wants to talk with parents

of other SGA children who had NG or G tubes as infants, and who are

now doing okay. She is very worried about her child's future.

-I told her that I would post on the listserve..hopefully, when

things get less hectic in their home, she'll join the group too.

- She said it was okay for other parents in a similar situation to

reach out to her by phone or email.
