Weird but True Chocolate Candy

Okay, some of you know that chocolate chips have become the bane of my

existence (I am sure they have contributed to my recent gain of five pounds).

I have abstained from chocolate chips for two weeks now, and with that and

some other changes, I have dropped three of those five pounds.

I have been doing a " weird " substitute for my chocolate chip fetish --

those times when I NEED chocolate and the texture of a shake just isn't going

to cut it.

I take 7 packages of Splenda, 1 Tsp. of baking Cocoa powder, mix them

in a very small cup (like a glass custard dish) -- then squirt about 10 sprays

of the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (or Parkay) Spray (the food topping,

NOT the cooking spray like Pam). Then I stir it up until it makes sort of a

crumbly dough type mix. I either eat this with a spoon or I roll it into a

little " ball. " It tastes ALMOST like a chocolate truffle (read: CANDY). I know

that many people say " go for the sugar free chocolates -- but those have the

sugar alchols, fat, and calories that I don't need as a VBGer.

This whole ritual strikes me as a little bit desperate (I feel sort of

like I'm mixing up my " drugs " or something!) but it has kept me away from the

chocolate chips.

Anyway, I thought I would pass on my weird concoction. I got the idea

from a friend who was doing Atkins a couple of years ago who melted butter

and mixed in cocoa and Equal to get his chocolate fix.
