Guest guest
Hi Tonya, So you got your hooks 6 weeks in advance like I did. They really are not that bad and you will get use to them rather quickly. I think the upper hooks drove me crazy for the first few days and after that I was fine. The main problem I had with the hooks and still do is food getting trapped in them. Yes, I did have both tubes through the nostrils which were removed on the 2nd day. They really didn't bother me and the removal was so quick that I really didn't feel it much at all. My nose did bleed a little after the removal, but not bad at all. You will probably have some soreness for a short period after the removal, but nothing painful. You will be thankful you have the tubes in to help you breathe and from getting sick. They really helped me and I never got sick in the hospital. I think I may have gotten a little nauseated after the tube removal which was easily cured with a tablet the nurse brought for me to take. Hope this helps & best of luck to ya, --Caboose > Went to see my surgeon today to go over final details about my surgery > on aug. 9. and got my surgical hooks on. oh, these are fun. 6 weeks > worth of fun! anyway, i found out today that i'm going to have a tube > in each nostral. one to suction out my stomach to keep me from getting > sick and the other to help me breath in case i get swollen. my doctor > said this is always his practice. he says better to be safe than > sorry. anyway, they'll be in until day 2 and i was wondering if anyone > had this done and what it was like. thanks, tonya
