Welcome-

I did not use primer, though I know some people have. I used one of those 1 inch

sponge brushes that you can get like 10 for a dollar at 's. And I used

the little bottles of acrylic paint, Apple Barrel is one brand. It doesn't look

streaky, but you do have to plan to paint at least 3 coats, depending on the

depth of color you want (usually the lighter colors need more coats to fill in

completely). I put painters tape over the stap as best I could. Once I painted,

I applied stickers or window clings (if that's all I could find) and then

covered it all with a few coats of mod podge (2-3). You can touch up chips here

and there and then reapply mod podge. I changed my son's designs every 3 weeks.

The paint would start getting dull and chip around the edges. Since there are so

many coats of paint, it peels off in big pieces really easily (like nail

polish). For thinner/stubborn areas, I used the rubbing alcohol to clean it up

(actually I would wipe the whole thing down before painting it again).

Hope that helps! Have fun with it!

have tried it. A few questions:

encouragement, or warnings if necessary, would be very much appreciated!
