Guest guest Posted March 13, 2006 Report Share Posted March 13, 2006 Hi , I would have your Dr prescribe a glucometer. That way you might be able to get it covered under your insurance. The glucometer itself isn't that expensive, but the test strips can be outrageous! Some insurance companies won't cover testing supplies until the child has a documented hypoglycemic episode, but you might be able to get one as a preventive measure if you supply your insurance company with the MAGIC articles stating that RSS children are prone to hypo-g.
