Guest guest
If the Dr in Portland gave that info, he/she gave out erroneous infrormation. Regarding ANY DOCTOR ANYWHERE, he or she can choose to perform surgery on anyone for any reason deemed a medical necessity. A PATIENT ANYWHERE is also considered a consumer and can choose to seek any doctor they wish, now, later or in midstream. There are no ethics involved in choice by the patient. The only ethical concern amongst doctors is in failure to perform properly for the patient in ways that are considered standard by the medical profession. Most docs are concerned with the patient's health and what they can do tohelp them NOW, not who their previous doc was. Hope this helps answer your question all best ceep gmom In a message dated 2/3/04 1:57:26 AM, Graduate-OSSG writes: << washington state revision I was told that Dr Oh would not do revisions on anyone he did not do originally. This is what I have heard from Dr. in Portland. My present doc finally did the revision on me, though he did not do the original surgery. My original surgeon is no longer doing WLS and is in California, not where I live now. What are the legal issues re: doing surgery on someone elses patient? Is it unethical? >>
