Guest guest
Prevacid is another drug like Prilosec or Nexium or Aciphex (sp?) for suppressing the formation of stomach acid (called a proton pump inhibitor) in the treatment of Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). For some folk, it works better than Prilosec; for others, not as well. YMMV. --Steve At 9:42 AM -0800 1/20/04, Janice Sperow wrote: >why and hwat is it for? > >janice
Guest guest
When I had killer pains, throwing up, etc., and an ultrasound revealed no stones (although I was only laying down), I was sure it was an ulcer. My PCP believed it was gastritis, put me on Prilosec, and I was fine for 2 weeks. Then the pain returned, much milder than before, but there, nonetheless. I asked to try Nexium because so many people on here seemed to do well with it. About 6 months have passed now, and so far, so good. in NJ ************************* > Prevacid is another drug like Prilosec or Nexium or Aciphex (sp?) for suppressing the formation of stomach acid (called a proton pump > inhibitor) in the treatment of Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease > (GERD).
