In need of a cheap alcoholic drink :)

This one is fast, easy and doesn't look like you're trying to make something

super fancy. I like to get just a half or whole pint of liquor at a time. A half

pint would make for drinks with 1 oz of liquor. Not bad at all.

Fresh Lemons

I'm pretty sure this is the lemon drop on message #6706 but I've been making it

so long now, I guess I feel like it's mine. <grin>

Vodka (whatever brand you like)

A bit of sweetener like a honey simple syrup or sweet n low (liquid)

Club Soda (all legal)

Ice

In a glass (that fits about 2 cups) squeeze 1/2 a lemon.

Add vodka (about an ounce or so)

Add your sweetener and stir.

Fill the glass up with ice.

Top off with club soda.

This one was easy to make ahead and tasted great. I made the lemon/lime/orange

mixture in one container, the simple syrup in another and just mixed them as I

went.

Serves 2 (large)

Squeeze juice from the following into a container:

2 Persian (regular, not key) limes

1 lemon

1/4 orange

In a separate container, mix 1/4 c. honey and 1/4 c. water to make a

simple syrup, stirring until the honey completely dissolves.

Add the honey syrup to the citrus juices. (That was too sweet for me so I cut

down on the amount of simple syrup.)

Salt the rim of the glass (if you want salt), add ice, add 2-3 oz.

tequila, and your SCD-legal sweet and sour mix. Stir. (2-3 oz made a seriously

strong drink. I cut that back too.)

Squeeze a slice of lime into the drink and enjoy!

Here is my go to drink. I add a little honey or liquid sweet n low when I'm

muddeling the mint. This might not work at a party though because of the

muddeling. This is also from Kathy at message #6706.

SCD Mojitos

Place several (apx. 1T or more) mint leaves in a glass. Squeeze in

the juice from 1/2 Persian lime (regular lime, not an itty bitty key

lime). Add honey to taste (I use about 1T, maybe a little less).

Using a wooden spoon or muddler, smoosh the above ingredients

together until the honey dissolves.

Add ice to fill the glass.

Add 1-2 oz. white rum (or tequila)

Top off with soda water and stir

> Hi all! I am going to a Bunko party this weekend, and I want to have

something more than red wine. Money is tight though, so I can't go spend tons

at the liquor store. Any suggestions on a cheap drink I can mix up? Thanks!
