Guest guest
saw the endocrinologist today. His growth has been extremely poor even on a maximal dose of growth hormone. The doctor cannot explain why isn't growing, and Dr. H has no explanation either. He would like to take off the Lupron and let him go through puberty at this point (age 12) to see if he will have his pubertal growth spurt. I am scared to death to do this, but I trust this doctor almost as much as I trust Dr. H. He wants to go off Lupron for 3 or 4 months to see what happens with his growth. If he grows significantly, he will repeat the bone age sooner than usual. If he doesn't have significant growth, he will repeat the bone age on the regular 6 month schedule that has been on. 's last bone age was 12 years 9 months at age 12. This is actually good for , as it was pretty advanced before. I am willing to to take him off the Lupron for a short time to see what happens. I am not sure what to do about the Aromasin (aromatase inhibitor). If I don't take him off this, will he not go into puberty? Anyone have any ideas? We are seeing Dr. H in January, and I am pretty sure she will freak out to know we are taking him off Lupron, but at this point, I don't know what else to do. Also, has anyone heard of a Dr. a Kreitzer (also an endocrinologist in NY - Long Island I believe?). 's doctor suggested that we see her as well as Dr. H when we go to NY. He trained under her, and said she is an excellent clinical doctor. He also said she has seen some of Dr. H's patients. At this point, I am willing to hear from anyone who has some answers for me!
