gain weight before surgery?

Hi, my name is and I live in Orange county, California. I get my

braces on in two weeks and will have my surgery just before the end of

the year. Not too bad... just have to wait 4 months in braces pre-op.

I'm really nervous about not being able to eat enough while being wired

shut. I'm a really skinny, active guy and tend to eat like a horse and

just burn it off. Would it be a good idea to gain some extra weight

before the surgery so I have some to lose while recovering?
