New Year's Eve ...

Here in D.C., the city is calm because Congress is gone until the 20th. You know

things are quiet because Metro runs only four-car subway trains instead of the

usually frantically filled six cars. On the streets, people are starting to get

out of work and make their way home to whatever debauchery is planned for

tonight. Bob and I (Bob is another DAZZLER of a DH, I am SO lucky!) are going to

walk to a nabe hangout for dinner, get a few videos, then watch New Year's

Rockin' Eve and the dropping of the ball, a few smooches and then to bed. Oh,

and we'll go out on the balcony and bang pot lids together for a while, we've

always done that...

This year has been so full of ups and downs. I'm grateful, I'm very proud, I

feel strong and not afraid. I expect new challenges next year and I hope they'll

include a really good full-time job for moi, because I deserve it after two

years of looking, and if the economy's improving, prove it! My love and very

best wishes to my sisters and brothers on this continual journey.

Sharon in D.C.
