Guest guest
Diane, I just read that post and just about died laughing. It must be that we look to these men like they're heroes for all they do for us. My surgeon would have to be in his early to mid 40's, but looks to be maybe 30. I live in Oregon (couldn't tell if you were the Diane in Oregon), but for me any accent is cute, and my OS has a southern accent. He has always had such a calming, soothing manner, which is good for me because I tend to be a bit loud and wired. Anyways, after my surgery when I was in the hospital I had flowers sent to me. Not just any flowers, a huge wicker basket overflowing, we figured out the cost between $200 and $225 for the set. Everyone in the room gasped, even the nurse was shocked and waited for us to find out who sent them. When I opened the card, low and behold they were from my OS saying thank you for letting us take care of you, it has been our pleasure and he had personally signed it. He even gave me his cell # in case I had a problem. We were all dumbfounded, and my nurse said she had never seen anything like it, and she asked if he had been a friend of the family before the surgery. Another nurse said if someone sent her flowers like that she would love them forever, and then she said, " your husband sent them, right? " " No, " I sheepishly said, " my doctor. " Her eyebrows went up, but she didn't say anything else. When I get my before and after pictures posted I'll post one of my flowers. I had to take a picture, flowers only last so long. The one thing I said though when I got the flowers even in my drug induced stupor was, " I earned those. " Boy, isn't that true? All of us have earned at least that much.
