Guest guest
Hi All, Okay, has anyone had a root canal 2 weeks post-op? I had my surgery 15 days ago...I got my splint off 2 days ago. I had been feeling a discomfort in one of my teeth when I would eat cold foods or drink cold drinks. Today I went to my dentist, I thought that he wouldn't be able to do anything for me really, maybe just prescribe something to dull the pain. I thought that it was just a cavity because I couldn't clean my teeth very well. But I had been feeling my teeth with my tounge and the tooth that was hurting, which had had a filling in the past, felt jagged like the filling had shifted. Well, when I got to the dentist he said I had an abcessed tooth and I needed a root canal immediately. So, I had one. We figured that something must have gotten caught on the filling during the surgery without anyone noticing it and when I threw up after the surgery the stomache acid had gotten in there and it got down to the root and exposed it. I was just wondering if anyone else had had a problem like that immediately after surgery. It is like I have gone back a week in the recovery period, at least with the swelling. It is so frustrating. But we figure that my recovery was going too well, and something had to go wrong Thanks, Austria BSSO, Genio, Septoplasty 08/11/2005
Guest guest
Austria - I'm so sorry you had to go through that today. Whatta drag! I simply can't imagine having to have anyone do anything around my teeth right now! I guess - keep forging ahead, it's got to get better. I'll be thinkin' about you!
