Guest guest
Hi , Glad to hear that you are slowly but surely improving. So you got your week off from the OS this week. That PT 3 times a week can sure be tiring. I was going 3 times a week for my knee after my surgery for about 3 months. That just wore me out having the PT pulling on my leg trying to get it to bend. There were times when I thought there was no way I could go through that torture anymore. But I hung in there and joined the gym and worked out 6 days a week for over an hour each day along with the 3 days of PT and finally the knee started to bend after 3 months post op. The bands are really not fun. The OS has a total of 4 bands which kind of form little squares. He has them wrapped around 3 brackets top to 3 brackets on bottom. He has them on pretty tight and I can only open enough to fit a baby spoon in and that is rather difficult. I attempted to eat french onion soup today and it just didn't work out. It took me 45 minutes just to finish about a half of cup. So I am a little frustrated, but trying to keep my positive attitude. It is a little more painful because most of the numbness is gone so I can feel everything. I like you am having problems with the jaw wanting to shift back. If this doesn't solve the problem the bands will get even tighter next week. My biggest issue with the bands is how long it is taking me to eat at work. I am getting very little in and finally just give up. My OS wants the bands on at all times. He gave me a few extra ones and are only to be used if the ones in my mouth happen to break. On a good note, today is my big 40 birthday and I did manage a big Strawberry Daq. YUMMMMY!...I also have a big slice of cheesecake with whip cream sitting in my frig for later. I am sure it will take forever to eat with the bands, but it will be so delish!! Keep up the good work and don't give up with stretching that jaw. All the hard work will pay off like it did me with my knee! I am here cheering you on every step of the way! (The banded Caboose) > > Hi all, > > > > I just got back from the OS.
