Guest guest
Just wanted to say I FINALLY will be having an iron infusion, that is SO needed! I went to a " quack " hematologist (IMHO anyway), and he didn't believe in them and didn't really know much about bypass patients either, SO, my gal pal went to a Dr near me and I got his name, made the appt, seen him today and he is totally on board with GB peeps! I just pray now that I don't have a reaction to the iron in the first hour, as if it that is ok, they will continue to infuse me for the next 4-5 hours... he believes in giving them all in one shot, then repeating the labs at 6 weeks and see where you are from there. My gal pal just had her 6 weeks check up yesterday and her iron is at 13 now! She's thrilled, feels better to, now she can go on with her PS next month. At this point, I'm just hoping to never again take oral iron and stop feeling so tired, especially around that time of the month! I could nap all day long in that week span! Well, just wanted to share that I'm finally making some progress in the Iron department! Thanks so much to many of you who have sent me private emails on your stories about your infusions and how they work. I do have a question though, have many of you had the total infusion at one time? If so, how do you feel right after it? And, how do you feel now? I have another gal pal that had GB, and she is going through 14 infusions for her treatment. Thanks, Sheila in Chgo =:-)
