Guest guest
Hello, My name is Cheri and I had my RNY surgery in June 2000. I was on the big huge OSSG list for a while but haven't been in any group for a long time. Our secretary is having the surgery TODAY and talking to her made me realize that I need the support sometimes too. So after showing her how to sign up, I went in search of a group that would fit my situation... and here you are! My highest weight was 272, which was BAD on my less than 5 feet tall frame. I lost about 20 lbs before the surgery and after surgery went down to 121 for a brief moment in time.. a blink of an eye it seems like! I have since settled into a weight range of 125 to 135. Size 4 on top but size 12 on bottom... that's where all my excess skin hangs of course! (I've also joined the plastic surgery list because it's time to start thinking about that too.) I gained some weight over the holidays, mainly because I didn't exercise. I usually do 5 to 7 hours a week of Jazzercise and recently joined Curves because I travel a lot and some cities don't have Jazzercise. I find that I have to keep up this level of exercie or I gain weight. But I eat what I want. Not big servings of anything, but I find I can eat anything without being sick. I almost wish sugar would make me sick! This week I've gone back to keeping track of my food and water intake. If I have to I'll go back to high protein and I've already gone to water only. However, sometimes I find that when I am watching my calories, I get MORE hungry. Silly, huh? I use the web site www.nutrawatch.com because it is so easy to use and I can track both my food and my exercise. Someone asked today about arthritis medicine. I take Vioxx and have been taking it since way before my surgery. I have had no problems with it. Well, I just thought I'd introduce myself and stop lurking!
