Guest guest
Hi Kim, I think Brayden is on the light side for an almost 2 yr old RSS child, and I don't think it's good that he's gone 6 months with no weight gain. However, you need to know that sometimes this happens! No matter how hard you try. In my opinion, I would try the Periactin again. Maybe your new GI would be willing to contact Dr H for dosage suggestions??? From what I've read, Drs unknowingly under dose kids, and then it can appear as though the med isn't working. And remember that although you might see a sudden spike in appetite when you first start Periactin, that can and will level out, and you won't " feel " like Brayden is consuming " more " food. That doesn't mean it's not working. Dr H told us somehting like " If you can get a child to eat one additional saltine cracker daily, it will add up to an extra pound of weight gained in a year. " As we all know, we're in this for the long haul, right? LOL Hope this helps. Hugs for you and yours!!
