I don't really feel as good as I had hoped losing all that weight. I hope it means my body is still adjusting. I am getting concerned about the weight loss. My ideal weight is around 160lbs. I ate like a pig before the UC hit. Guess I am doing ok on the diet. cant eat much with out issues. Hamburger, eggs, bananas, chicken cooked green squash and pears. Spinich went right through me. Have been really good with keeping legal. Don't understand why I am not much better. I am down to maybe 1 to 2 BM's a day usually in the morn but they are small followed by loose stool and gas, about a 1/4 inch round. Almost like my colon is dramatically swollen. I have no blood. I do pan fry most of my meats ( little butter or olive oil) except whole chicken which I roast. You see I love to cook and eat and boiled meat is just not acceptable :)I will try to introduce yogurt tomorrow as I am finishing up a batch. Hope thatdoes not give me issues. Phil, First of all, it's not uncommon to lose weight at the beginning of the diet as you shift from bacterial based digestion (rumen) to an enzyme based digestion (human). First, are you keeping a food and event diary? If not, you should start. Second, if I understand you, you're eating burgers and chicken for meats. What about adding some turkey, some lean pork, some beef roast? How about some fish? Shrimp? Oysters? Lamb might be a little rich just now. I didn't go for boiled meat either. I was too sick to cook, having just gotten out of the hospital for emergency gall bladder surgery. I ate roast beef, roast pork, steamed zucchini, and soft boiled eggs for WAY longer than I care to think about -- and I'm a darn good cook who enjoys making tasty dishes. How many bowel movements were you having a day? As your system adjusts, having stool that has been in the colon awhile (and has thus had extra liquid reabsorbed from it) followed by stool which is coming along behind that is much looser is not at all unusual. Have you tried adding some seasonings to your meats? If so, which ones? If spinach didn't agree, have you tried green beans? Baby new peas? What about a couple of other squashes, if green squahs (zucchini?) agrees?
