Guest guest
It takes time to learn lessons in life. But, I can guarantee - over the years - I have learned that you should always be nice to people you are unfamiliar with - as you never know who you might meet. Today, I took the boys to the & Noble book store. We hadn't been there since this summer and they love to play with the trains and read the books (well, Ian likes to take all the books off the shelves LOL). Anyway, a woman and what turned out to be her daughter were looking for a " special " book. Well, the talkative person that I am - mentioned some of my favorites....Little Woman, Jane Eyre, Secret Garden to name a few. We got to talking and the younger woman said - " are these two boys yours " ? She pointed to and Ian and I said yes. She asked how old was and I said he just turned four. I got the usual - " Oh - he's really big for his age " (most people think he's 6!) Then she asked about Ian. I said the usual - he's 2.5 - but, he's small for his age. He has a rare syndrome....Then she said " Silver Syndrome? " I almost fell over! I said YES! How did you know? Well, apparently, her sister-in-law (I won't name names - but, hopefully will recognize this brief interview <grin>) has a son I think she said around the age of 5 or 6 who has RSS. Apparently they are incredibly active with MAGIC and she proudly made comments about how well-versed they were and all the research her sister-in-law has done on the " subject " . I gave her my name and phone number to pass on. I was surprised but very happy. They were both very nice individuals. I could have talked to them for hours. Moral of the story: Always be nice - you'll never know who'll you meet that may have a friend or relative of RSS!!! LOL Have a nice evening everyone. - H
