Guest guest
The only time my daughter had low platlet counts was when the doctors were ordering a lot of daily blood draws while hospitalized. There is some thing that (I think) causes low platlet counts called ITP. It is when a child gets a cold(virus) and the bodies immune system goes a muck and has to be retrained to not attack it's own blood cells. This is not Leukemia. It requires some transfusions and hopefully the body kicks back into a normal relationship with it's platlets if that does not work then the next course of action is corticalsteriods (sp). When the platlets get low you will see easy bruising. Do not want to scare any one but this is not an uncommon condition among AGA children or even adults. Doctors say a lot of people do not even know they have it.
