Guest guest
Hi all, It's been eons since I have posted here, but I wanted to give an update. Five months ago yesterday I had an upper/lower/genio, and I am living to tell about it. I am within 2 months of having the braces removed (for a total treatment time of 18 months). I still have mild swelling in my cheeks, and I have numbness in my chin, but it is coming back slowly. I am finally eating what I want, and I have the urge to chew again which is new this week. I am very pleased with how everything looks... I have a very masculine jawline now, and my smile is something that I am finally not embarrassed about! I am finally happy that I had the surgery. For me, the recovery from the surgery was easy... the hardest part of the whole thing for me has been the bands to get the bite in place. Who knew a rubber band could cause so much discomfort? If anybody has questions or comments, I would be happy to respond. Oh! And for those of you who remember me... I was able to stay up on my classwork for school (I am getting an MBA from Cal) after the surgery, and I didn't have to drop a course! WHEE!
