Guest guest
Dear : Make sure you have something for nausea, both as a pill and as a suppsoitory, take 2 ibuprofens every 4 hours during the day and 2 before going to bed, you should have something for sleeping, and just in case, claim dibbs on he bathroom. Drink a lot of fluids, if possible something like gatorade, or at least water, and eat some crackers if you don't feel like anything else to have something in your stomach. The only other two things I can think of is to have some benadryl, (over the counter is 25mg and you can take two to four for itching or a rash, every 4-6 hours), and possibly something for pain. You are always better off taking the premeds for the first couple of times, then not having them at all. Also you got away cheap. Usually the combo kit costs $ 1,500.00 per month. You probably do not have any extra needles with the pen, so, if needed, ask the pharmacist to get some of the needles they use in the insulin pens. Hopefully you won't need any of these, but if you do, you have them

Guest guest
Be thankful for anyone who is allowed more than one kit at a time. Our insurance company would only allow 1 kit per 2 weeks, and it was a pain having to drive to the pharmacy every 2 weeks. There are different combo kits, which usually vary in the amount of ribaviran in the kit. At first they only gave 1 pen with enough to inject 3 million units for 6 doses, and 6 needles. Also, it included alcohol wipes and enough ribaviran pills for someone to take 6, 200 mg pills a day. Only lately, have they began to cut back on the ribaviran to meet the doses a person can tolerate as a prepackaged kit. Many pharmacists who are not aware of HCV, or are not treating many patients, do not realize they can get different kits unless they look it up. Guest guest
Dear : In patients with liver problems, in the past mostly from alcohol abuse, the itching was described by people as little bugs crawling just under the skin, and was nick named " creapy crawly syndrome " . Many times using atarax helps these symptoms, and if needed, lactolose which will lower the amonia build up as well as help in any constipation. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Welcome back to Sydney ! Yes we must be near neighbours, I am in Strathfield. I will write to you privately as well, and all you need do is hit the ole reply button when you see my private email. At any rate, if i dont manage to catch you first click on new message and copy and paste this addy in there: ccdream@... and away you go. Be great to catch up over a cuppa later on down the track. Say, about your CT scan, they thought pretty much the same with me, (thinking there was a growth on the optic nerve or whatever to make my eyes as proposis as they are). They did inject the dye, and i went thru it, but had some comps later but came thru that ok too. Guess I am not as vocal as I should be, but hey that was 5 years ago and then i wasnt in the know as i am now in terms of where we are with fab supportive lists like this. Catch ya later, Dawn. > > > Message: 2 > Date: Tue, 16 Jan 2001 11:09:58 -0000 > From: " dawn rose " <getdawnrose@...> > Subject: (unknown) > > Hey Ersilla, > I'm not sure I got your email regarding your endo. Guest guest
Re: Quitting Smoking Way to go! I quit years ago and took up eating carrots & celery. I also keep a pen in my mouth when I need that fix. Good luck to you! re: cookbooks >What are *your* favorite cookbooks that you're using now on your weight loss plan? What are your favorite recipe web sites? I like the Broadway book that came with my kit. My favorites are The Enchanted Broccoli Forest by Mollie Katzen and Cooking the whole Foods Way by Pirillo. Katzen's is vegetarian & Pirillo's is Macrobiotic. Cooking Light puts out fabulous cookbooks and special editions filled with their most popular recipes. http://www.cookinglight.com re: Sue Thanks for getting back to me about Sansone. Blockbuster doesn't have the greatest selection of exercise videos, but they try. :-) My next vid search is for a yoga vid for larger students. I saw an ad for one in Yoga Journal years ago but can't remember the title. Vegetarian cheese is so good! I really like Veggie Slices, especially the pepper jack version. For mac & cheese I have a recipe for a silken tofu based cheese sauce that the kids like well enough. They love it when I sprinkle the grated cheese on top and let it get bubbly. I started buying in for because her cholesterol was 220 at 4 years old! Thanks for the pep talk. :-) re: Glad you made it through ok. I'm not big on spanking either, especially not in public. I personally have a hard time with anyone else spanking my kids. re: 5-HTP I read about it in Natural Health magazine (really yummy recipes this month) a few months ago. The info Sue posted is essentially what the article said. There are books on Amazon about it. Guest guest
Well, I applied for the birth certificate and should be able to pick it up tomorrow. I was worried about the airplane at 260 a few months ago, but now I am sick over it. Why do they insist on 17 3/4 and 18 " seats when the asses on 60% of our adult population are more in the 25 " plus department. Heaven knows I am paying for the space!! Thanks for keeping me posted on your progress. You are my hope right now (and my entertainment, too, I must add!) Thanks so much :-) jen Digest Number 253 >
Guest guest
Hi, I'm wondering how to get a copy of the video by Dr. Mehta. I know someone responded to me about this before, but I have to admit, I just wasn't at the right mental readiness to pursue it. My daughter's curve appears to be responding well to her TLSO boston brace (she was 37degrees at the start in October and it was obvious to me when she bent over that it looked like a C- now when she bends over after I take off the cast for her 1 hour it looks perfectly straight). Plus, she's a big swimmer - we're spending the summer in southern California at Grandma's house just so she can swim tons (since she doesn't have to wear her brace then) and the thought of a cast was just not appealing when I first encountered this group several months ago. All this to say I am thinking the brace is working (at least the curve is not progressing) and she has her 'freedom'. However, we will be going back to our orthopedist in a couple of months and I want to have the video to see before then - I know the brace isn't supposed to correct the curve (though I cling to the hope that she'll be one of those rare ones that will be correctable in the brace) - so I think I need to be more informed about casting. My orthopedist thinks highly of Dr. Mehta and I want to be able to bring him the video as well so that he can see what I am talking about since his knowledge of the details of this are in the beginning stages (though he seems willing to learn more). We also have possible issues with a tethered spinal cord although no one knows for sure so we will have a new MRI done in September as well. Wish us luck! Thanks!! This group is great - just reading about how there are a lot of other moms out there dealing with these issues has helped a lot - just the minor validation that the orthopedists are often so rushy-rushy and unwilling to give the nitty-gritty details has been very nice to hear. Guest guest
Hi Robin, H. sends out the videos through ISOP. She left a post earlier today saying she wouldn't be available for a few days, but that you can reach her through ISOP. She has anyone who wants a copy, e-mail her thier address privately. My boys ortho. has my copy, isn't it nice to find doctors willing to learn! Take care! Guest guest
Hi All: Does anyone have a flier or website address for the Stanford Celiac event that's coming up? Is it this weekend or next weekend? My boss just concluded that she needs to follow a gluten-free diet, and I thought she might like to attend this event. Thanks, Louise --- wrote: >
Guest guest
Here 'tis. http://celiacsupport.stanford.edu/conference/index.html She should sign up SOON, as the venue is smaller this year and it usually sells out two weeks in advance anyway. The conference is two weeks from tomorrow, on Saturday, Oct. 8. Guest guest
Hey Tracey: Glad you answered for us, as for me; I am only consuming medications prescribed by my AMA Specialists.
