Tummy Time

Has anyone purchased and used any tummy time mats? If so what do you recommend?

Since we have to try to keep our little one on her tummy more to build her

muscles, I'm looking for something that might make it more fun. I've been

We used a Fisher Price rain forest play mat but I think anything with cheerful

music and lights would be good. The mat that we used had little cloth loops on

the actual mat so you could attach different toys. If the mat you pick doesn't

come with a music box you can always pick and play your own music from another

source. I used a package of plastic links to move and change out the toys to

keep the play mat different every time. Sometimes her favorite toy was there and

sometimes it was something new.

For us the crucial part of tummy time success ended up being the boppy pillow.

Because of reflux, my daughter just would not tolerate being directly laying on

her tummy but the boppy put her at a better angle and she still had to use the

same muscles to lift and turn her head.
