Honestly, if I have another baby, I'd use an angel care breathing monitor and put her on her tummy from the get go. And I'd still flip her each night to lay on opposite sides of her head.Sent from my iPhoneOn May 26, 2010, at 4:46 AM, "christineashok" <christineashok@...> wrote:

Hi ,

Congratulations on your good news. I don't know any sleep positioners. The one that was recommended to us long ago is no longer available from what i know (nightform). What I do know is you should vary the head position and avoid things that keep him/her on his/her head such as keeping him in the car seat (when not in the car), swing etc. There is a cushion you can use sometimes called noggin nest (? I didn't use it). Also push tummy time from the beginning. Try a baby carrier or sling when you can (or course check out the current warnings about using a sling with young babies).

My daughter had brachy and slept with her head facing the ceiling each night - not recommended :-)

Does anyone know the name of this sleep positioner or any other sleep positioner that they would highly recommend to help prevent brachy/plagio?

Absolutely on the angel care monitor. I have 4 children ranging in age from

19 years to 3 months. my other 3 children were tummy sleepers and of course I

had no problem with their heads. My 9 year old daughter had the angel care

monitor and I loved it. When I had another baby at age 41 (was not planning it),

my number 1 item to buy was another angel care. However, I did what I was

supposed to do this time and now my baby has a crooked head. If I had to do it

all over again, he would have been a tummy sleeper from the day he came home

from the hospital.
