Bruising on Sideburns

Hello:

My son, SM, got his Starband helmet on Nov. 13, 2009. When he has the helmet

on, it looks like his left cheek is indented and the helmet is pressing in too

tight. Also, after we take it off for his break, it leaves a red mark on his

cheek bone and cheek area that takes hours and hours to go away. It's actually

bruising him now. The clinician said he wasn't worried about the marks left by

the helmet unless the bruising was purple. Does this sound normal? If anyone

else experienced this, what did their clinician say? [We took his helmet off

for some time recently b/c he had a fever and the marks still remained. Our

next scheduled visit to the clinician is Dec. 4. 2009 but I am worried about

waiting so long.]

Thanks,

Key
