Guest guest
Hi all - Our daughter is 9mos old and has been wearing her starband helmet since February 20. She has had a couple adjustments since - one unscheduled - another at her two week check-up yesterday and now I'm going back again today! Our daughter has no issues wearing the starband and doesn't even squirm when we put it on or take of her helmet and overall she has a great disposition - rarely unhappy. However, she cannot sit still during her fittings and doesn't like her orthotist at all - as soon as he enters the room she gets upset. I am concerned about the frequency of fitting appointments and getting it right on scheduled appointments if she is squirming so much. The orthotist assures me that even thoguht she squirms he can get a good read. However, today I am having to return for a fitting because her helmet is sideways, pushing down on her left eye and rubbing on her right ear. Does anyone have any advice for me on keeping baby girl happy during her appointments? I'm hoping this could help reduce the number of fittings and visits that are very disruptive to my schedule. Specifically - it can be hard to reschedule for fitting and don't want to loose progress if I cannot return to othotist quickly. Or - is this just par for the course - squirmy or not? Thanks in advance for your tips/tricks!
