We also did CST and it helped allot. We still ended up in a helmet, but we needed a lot less correction when we did. I would reccomend it. I have only heard people say repositioning helps it not get worse, but does not improve it.

Re: Those of you who did not band/helmet

Hi heather, We also tried repositioning for a month, with the help of an OT - when our son was 5 months. It did nothing to correct the flatness. I was about to get his helmet ordered when I ran into someone at the mall who told me about CST with an Osteopath. We've gone twice now and I can see a difference in his head shape. It's not as different as I want, but we still have two more sessions. We will make the decision about the helmet when he turns 7 months in several weeks. My husband was skeptical of the CST too, but he did some research and found that lots of people have found success with it, and it can do no damage. Now he's even going to visit the Osteopath for some issues himself tomorrow! I would recommend finding someone who has a lot of training in CST, because you can just take a few classes and claim to be proficient in CST. Our Osteopath takes our insurance so we just pay the co-pay each time. Good luck to you!>> My son (8 mo next week) was diagnosed with mild/mod. plagio. THe neurosurgeon feels that it will correct itself. My husband and I will are on the fence on what to do. We will be repositioning him as much as possible and take weekly pictures to see if we see any change. At his 9 mo appointment we will then re-evaluate his head shape and decide if we need to band him. > > My question is will repositioning help? Will I see a difference if we only reposition him?> > I am also looking into CST but my husband is a little skepitical about it. > > Mahalo,> >
